Eagerly awaiting yarn for autumn and winter

The shipment of Kollage Fantastic is on the way. Thank you to the smart customers who pre-ordered. I am running this special to introduce an aptly-named product:

Fantastic Aran Wt from Kollage Yarns

Buy a bag (that’s 10 X 50gm hanks) and get 1 hank free (so, pay for 9 hanks). Further, this yarn will be priced to match the USA pricing at an introductory price of $8.95AU per hank. This is a limited special. If you want to get your hands on a hank to see and feel it’s luxuriousness, samples (and colour card) available at the Port shop. The clever people at Kollage advise they are already working on 10 more colours for next year, it’s been so popular.

This yarn aptly named; it also perfect for this winter’s jumper project — excellent stitch definition, beautiful tight twist, squishy-soft feel. And yes, I will be hand-painting Fantastic.

This week, the new hanks of merino sock and merino lace are finally dry and ready — 1st lot of new merino sock is in McLaren Vale. 1st lot of merino lace (well, it’s almost a 3ply) is in a serendipity red and black that I’ve nicknamed Brickworks. It was too damp last week for the wool to dry completely, even after DAYS. Nice thermal properties, no?

Thank you, in particular to Gemling (the dynamic duo) who popped by with their knitting for a chat and some hot donuts. Oh YEAH. Did I mention we have hot donuts at the Port Markets EVERY WEEKEND. It’s a workplace hazard.

And a huge hello to Colleen, the fabulous lace knitter, who loves Uruguayan Merino Singles as much as I do. Thanks so much for the appreciation and support. This yarn continues to delight my fingers and eyes.

Now that the weather has changed, I have brought out the-Port-Markets-only specials baskets. One is for Lone Hanks at a discount; the other, for commercial yarns at great discounts. These have been attacked quite well in the last 2 weeks. I mean, there are some nice goodies in there people.

CU at the Port, Melissa
